Masquespacio, Alejandra Pombo, Erico Navazo, Noé Prades and The Room Studio contribute their creativity to the brand's sustainable materials

The sales derived from these five creations will be used for charitable purposes.

Sant Vicent del Raspeig (Alicante), March 14, 2024.- ECOcero, a company specializing in the design and creation of sustainable acoustic solutions, has presented its rECOnnect catalog in Madrid Inside Art & Design (MIAD), a proposal for sustainable solutions and of design, including sound-absorbing works of art designed by Masquespacio, Alejandra Pombo, Erico Navazo, Noé Prades and The Room Studio.

These five exclusive author proposals combine the versatility of acoustic materials with the creative minds of designers with an aesthetic and solidarity purpose: the benefits derived from their sale will go to different non-governmental organizations (NGOs). All of them are part of the ECOdesign collection by ECOcero, whose sound-absorbing panels are born from the recycling of millions of plastic bottles per year, at a rate of 75 bottles for every square meter. Thus, acoustic panels absorb sound and promote well-being in the spaces they equip. “When designing each panel, we think about people's peace of mind. Pieces created to generate comfort and made with sustainable materials that contribute to acoustic well-being and care for the environment. “We are pioneers in designing acoustic panels that harmonize emotional and artificial intelligence, creating spaces that resonate with calm, empathy and sustainability,” he assures the executive director of ECOcero, Jorge Bellido.

Masquespacio

With Masquespacio, ECOcero has created Optical Illusion, a piece that intertwines reality and illusion and whose profits go to Arquitectura Sin Fronteras. “We wanted to play with shapes and colors, creating different volumes. A space can be beautiful and unique, but if the acoustics or lighting are poor, the user's comfort will be altered. Designers and architects, as project creators, must be the first to offer sustainable materials to create a better future,” say Ana Milena and Christophe Penasse from Masquespacio.

Alejandra Pombo

Quibble by Alejandra Pombo is inspired by the postmodern design of the 70s, with bold and asymmetrical patterns. Their sales will be used to collaborate with the NGO Kubuka, which promotes education and entrepreneurship in Kenya and Zambia. “Good design balances functionality, aesthetics and efficiency. It must satisfy customer needs, improve the user experience and take into account practical and aesthetic aspects. The future of acoustics in design will include innovative approaches to integrate acoustic solutions more efficiently and aesthetically into spaces. The demand for quiet and comfortable environments will continue to be a priority,” says Alejandra Pombo.

The Room Studio

Mirage is the creation of The Room Studio for ECOdesign. The rounded and rectangular shapes create an illusion of depth, while the contrast between pure white and deep black highlights timeless elegance. The proceeds will go to Doctors of the World. “Good acoustics improve the quality of life, contribute to well-being and enrich the environment with the aim of achieving comprehensive harmony. Taking all elements into account when creating a project is essential to minimize environmental impact, reduce waste and promote healthier environments. Good design lasts over time and adapts to changes and needs,” say Meritxell Ribé and Josep Puigdomènech from The Room Studio.

Noé Prades

Waves is an acoustic painting designed by Noé Prades for ECOcero whose shapes imitate the waves of the sea. The composition improves the acoustics of the space, evokes the serenity of the ocean and will allow the brand to collaborate with the Balia Foundation for Children. “In environments such as homes, offices, concert halls and public spaces, acoustic quality directly affects the user experience. Good acoustic design can improve sound quality, reduce unwanted noise and create pleasant environments. Furthermore, we, as designers, must commit to and promote the application of sustainable materials in spaces,” says Noé Prades.

Erico Navazo

The creation of Over by Erico Navazo is inspired by the pink tones of salt lagoons such as La Mata in Alicante, Lake Hillier in Australia and Lake Masazir in Azerbaijan. Proceeds from the sale will benefit NJOVU, an NGO dedicated to the conservation of biodiversity and African wildlife “Nature is always my great source of inspiration, with colors and textures that I fall in love with. And, in that design, acoustics are essential to create environments that not only look good, but are also pleasant thanks to sound management. Integrating sustainable practices into our designs must be part of our commitment and responsibility as designers,” emphasizes Erico Navazo.

New collections

In addition to ECOdesign, rECOnnect includes other lines, such as the ECOwall collection that combines aesthetics and sustainability and is made up of decorative panels glued to walls or ceilings that reduce noise by up to 70%. Within this collection, there is Groove by Alejandra Pombo, inspired by the postmodernist design of the seventies, and Strata by Erico Navazo, an abstraction generated from topographic maps. Other options are the V-Cut bevel, the double and organic panels of Volume and Motion that reflects the boldness of contemporary art.

The ECOnordik line reveals the fusion of the warmth of wood with the acoustic excellence of ecological panels. Textures such as oak and ash combine with color to create elegant and conscious spaces. That premise is reflected in the Meet proposals by Erico Navazo, inspired by organic and natural shapes, and brand creations such as Curve, which combines the aesthetics of wood with a curved back and Colour, which adds a touch of customized color to the slats

For its part, ECOceiling brings ceilings to life with recycled acoustic panels, through simple assembly. Designer Rafa Ortega has conceived three of the options in this collection: Flap, Code and Circular. Flap reinvents the environment with 360º rotating slats, while Code is inspired by the patterns of barcodes and Circular brings volumetric dynamism to the spaces. Quadrilateral by Openbook starts from minimalism to generate a feeling of order and serenity. To generate acoustic comfort thanks to the ceilings, Baffle provides verticality, Cloud opens up creative possibilities and Aline configures rectangular and orderly shapes.

ECOllections is made up of acoustic panels that perfect the sound of the environment, to which they provide a sophisticated style. An example of them is Lumomesh from The Room Studio, which integrates acoustics and lighting in the same panels, which stand out for their adaptability. In its case, Puzzle mixes colors and shapes.

ECOimagine celebrates the expression of individual creativity, offering the tools to personalize every element and transform any environment with a unique vision. Thus, ECOprint serves as a blank canvas for creativity while ECOcustom includes panels that can be cut, beveled, die-cut and printed freely. ECObooth is a line of cabins that fuses functionality and aesthetics and promotes concentration while ECObasic goes back to the origins with simple and timeless panels with a square silhouette – Square -, round – Circle – and rectangular – Rectangle.

All ECOcero acoustic panels are manufactured from recycled polyester fiber available in 16 base colors, which have CE sustainability certifications, with Gold, FSC Standard, LEED, BREEAM, Global Recycled Standard, PEFC and OEKO-TEX certifications. Starndard.
