The Room Studio designs the best Interihotel stand with ecological, acoustic and illuminated panels

The stand of the ECOcero firm wins the award for the best stand of the new edition of Interihotel 2023.

All pieces are created from the recycled PET plastic that ECOcero uses in its acoustic solutions.

The Room Studio has presented two collections for the brand that combine sustainability and technology to generate sensations.

San Vicent del Raspeig (Alicante), October 19, 2023.- The stand of the firm ECOcero, a specialist in sustainable acoustic solutions and designed by The Room Studio, has been awarded as the best stand at the fair in the current edition of Interihotel , the 'boutique event' of hotel and restaurant interior design that takes place from October 18 to 20 in Barcelona.

The space, designed from materials from recycled PET plastic bottles, shows the different options that exist for spaces such as restaurants, offices or contract in reducing the eco and improving acoustic comfort, from a collection that combines the Acoustic panels with lighting. This is one of the two collections that The Room Studio has presented for the Alicante acoustic comfort brand.

The Interihotel awards jury considered that the award for best stand design went to Ecocero “for being a space that invites visitors to enter, that harmoniously and innovatively integrates the material into the space itself with a perfect balance of “Palette of colors and plays of light to create a very cozy and pleasant space.”

For The Room Studio – a studio promoted by Meritxell Ribé and Josep Puigdomènech – this collaboration has been “a challenge and a joy”, as it has given them the opportunity to let their imagination fly and design beyond the current limits of acoustics”, according to Ribé. “Achieving this recognition in such a carefully curated fair and with so many professionals in the field of architecture, design and interior design is a great joy that reinforces our commitment to design, well-being and beauty,” he explained.

The stand shows solutions that merge the naturalness of materials and technology “to generate lighting and emotional sensations through spaces,” asserts Puigdomènech. “In the field of interior design, most acoustic solutions on the market limit us when it comes to designing. This collaboration has been an opportunity to respond to our own needs with solutions that are also useful to other professionals. We wanted to incorporate lighting because the light factor is one of the most relevant aspects of a project. Having a well or poorly lit environment makes a difference between day and night in a space,” says Puigdomènech.

The collection commissioned from The Room Studio includes two projects: an acoustic solution and an author's work of art of which a limited series will be produced. Applying their philosophy that design is the sum of imagination and technique, The Room Studio has defined a first collection – with which they were presented at the Interihotel fair and which earned them the award – apparently simple, but versatile and very Personalize it, so that interior designers can incorporate it naturally into their projects. “It is not based on specific forms, so that the interpretation of the pieces is free. They are solutions that interior designers need in our daily lives,” says Ribé.

As for the second proposal, they have opted for a “contemporary work of art with calm tones, ranging from anthracite gray to beige, so that it does not mark the space with color” and that provides all the sound-absorbing qualities that are the hallmark of ECOcero identity. According to Ribé: “We have opted for abstraction, playing with different shapes and emptiness.” “It is rational and three-dimensional,” concludes Puigdomènech.

The collaboration with The Room Studio is part of a new ECOcero initiative that combines sustainability and design, collaborating with renowned designers in its new catalog, which includes proposals by Erico Navazo, Noé Prades, Masquespacio and Alejandra Pombo. An original idea by David Millón. The CEO of ECOcero, Jorge Bellido, explains that this collaboration seeks to incorporate design into its acoustic comfort solutions thanks to the creativity and experience of professionals in the sector. “Acoustics is a factor that interior designers increasingly take into account in their projects. It is necessary to limit excess noise so that it is possible to concentrate and converse in all types of spaces. Our solutions provide well-being and sustainability to interior designers' projects,” he says.
