Uptodown
Málaga

Located in the heart of Malaga, Uptodown's new headquarters stands as a testament to evolution and adaptation. The company, a pioneer in the distribution of mobile applications and games and 100% European, has transformed its headquarters on Puerta del Mar street, reflecting a new corporate image that resonates with its vision of the future.

Upon entering, the visitor is met with a modern and polished design, where every corner of the office speaks to the company's identity and ambitions. The open work spaces, the bright meeting rooms and the common areas invite collaboration and creativity, allowing interaction and the promotion of internal activities.

This renovation is not just aesthetic. It also incorporates a committed ecological initiative. Uptodown has collaborated with ECOcero, a pioneer in recycling, to install acoustic panels made from recycled plastic bottles. These panels, apart from helping to reduce the carbon footprint, improve the acoustics of the offices, providing a calm and pleasant environment to work.

The renovation of the headquarters reflects the leap into a new era that Uptodown is embracing with the recent approval in the European Parliament of the new Digital Markets Law. This law promotes greater freedom for developers and users by allowing the use of alternative app stores.

Uptodown co-CEOs Luis Hernández and Pepe Domínguez are determined to make Uptodown a real alternative to the Google and Apple duopoly. With a 20-year history, Uptodown not only provides a safe and alternative app store, but also delivers more than 450 million downloads every month, and has more than 100 million monthly unique users and tens of thousands of developers.

This renovation is yet another example of Uptodown's philosophy, with a global approach but maintaining its local essence. The new headquarters reaffirms its commitment to this vision and to creating synergies with other nearby technology companies. Therefore, Uptodown has not only created a workspace that reflects its vision and ambitions, but also a place that respects the environment and promotes the well-being of its employees.

Why acoustically condition my office?

  1. Efficiency in meetings: A study from the University of Salford showed that acoustic conditioning can make meetings more efficient by improving speech clarity (Tanner, CK, 2000).
  2. Better Mental Health: According to the World Health Organization, a quieter work environment can reduce the risk of mental disorders such as anxiety and depression (WHO, 2011).
  3. Increased Customer Satisfaction: Harvard University published a study suggesting that good acoustic conditioning can lead to greater customer satisfaction, especially in industries such as call centers (Zuckerman, D., 2003).
  4. Error Reduction: According to a report from the National Institute of Building Sciences in the USA, acoustical conditioning can help reduce errors by minimizing distractions (NIBS, 2003).
  5. Better Work-Life Balance: Stanford University found that a less noisy work environment can contribute to a better work-life balance by reducing job stress (Kelly, EL, et al., 2011).
